Hydrogen Fuel: It’s a Gas!
As Tom tighten the last screw to the hose clamp securely installing a homemade hydrogen gas kit for his 2002 Ford Taurus Sedan. Tom was hoping to double his gas mileage and could hardly wait for tomorrow when he and his family were driving From Seattle to San Diego to visit family and the amusement parks in LA with the children.
The hydrogen fuel is runs very dry and is causing a flaking off of metal in the engines. The flaking failure has been found in sliding / rolling contacts. The stress corrosion cracking, a dilemma found in engines that run on primarily on hydrogen fuel, is being studied by consultants to see how it might be corrected.
It is a known fact that some Alternative fuels, i.e., biofuels may cause metal stress. Ethanol stress, corrosion, cracking is being researched by the industrial industry to see how this problem can be avoided. We have so many natural resources in the USA to make the biofuels ” why pay $6.00 a gallon when our own country has the means to make fuels.
Some American car manufacturers are again looking into producing the electric car because of public demand. There is a movie called “Who Killed The Electric Car” that is worth seeing and tells the story of a past effort to test electric and the electric car passed the test. Ford is listening and is producing the Edge. The Ford Edge will have a drivable fuel cell hybred electric plug-in.
A number of worldwide automakers are in the hunt for a method to ecologically improve automobile fuel economy while still meeting today’s strict emissions requirements. Will the oil cartel allow the politicians to support the people’s wishes in finding a local solution to the high oil and gasoline prices? Who really controls the research and direction of fuel saving devices?
Hydrogen-boosted gas engine: One more way to boost fuel economy is to add hydrogen to the fuel/air mixture in a typical gasoline engine. The problem is that hydrogen isn’t readily available at your local filling station, selling a hydrogen-boosted gas engine hasn’t been on any vehicle-makers’ preferred. We hope the people get educated about alternative fuels and demand the lawmakers support this new industry.
Hydrogen Gas In Cars Is Nothing New and top end lubrication may extend the life of the engine. Now is the time to change our addition to the gas pump and use the alternate fuels available to us.
