How You Find A Cheap And Good Hotel
What constitutes a good hotel, and just how low does a price need to be before it’s deemed a “cheap” rate? Almost anywhere you travel, these days, you’ll be able to find accommodation. Finding an affordable place to stay that meets your minimum requirements can make it a little more daunting. There are some tips that can help you out.
To begin, you must decide your level of expectation. You cannot stay at a hotel for no reason. The hotel must be in a sense a vacation as well if you are going on a honeymoon with your lover. It must also be full of luxuries. You can find an inn just to sleep and have breakfast inn too, having maids wait on you. Hotels can also be used if you are a businessman in need of a bigger area where work and business can be done. Your desires may be simple if you are a commuter who goes to hotels during specific seasons. You may not have that much cash and only want a hotel where you can sleep when it gets dark. In order to find a hotel that is cheap and has what you need, you must figure out your reason for going there.
Secondly, what is “good?” Good, to me, is somewhere with clean bedding, a clean restroom and polite staff to assist you with your needs. I don’t require a view, a stocked mini-bar, or adult channels on the TV. If the view is worth seeing, I’ll leave the hotel and be part of it. If I feel like a drink, I’ll either try a local establishment, or bring my own refreshments back to the room. If I want to watch something that’s scrambled, I’ll wait until I get home. For me, if I’m staying at your hotel, it’s for one reason, and one reason only. I need a place to sleep and get some rest. Provide me with this, and I’ll be a, mostly, contented guest.
I understand that hotels need to make money outside of the room charges. Paying $4 for a can of soda, $6 for a bar of candy, or $12 for a movie on TV, however, seems criminal to me. It’s not that I’m tight with money. I’m not. If I want something, I’ll buy it. I just won’t blindly pay whatever is being asked for it just because it’s there at the time. Travellers tip number one. If you, or your family, like candy, soda, or the occasional adult beverage, pick some up from a convenience store before you check in and have them at the ready if you need them.
If one wants a cheap motel and is not looking for a bed or breakfast inn, he/she should probably check out well known areas near huge traffic areas, industrial areas, or airports. The person will often find a good room there too, as long as he/she asks to see it. First the person should ask if it’s available just in case all rooms are full. Once the individual receives the key, he/she can feel free to check out the room and come back to either register or ask for another room.
If a person is able to stay at a variety of hotels, he/she will understand what the hotel room may be worth and when to pay more for it. It is quite possible to be satisfied with a lot of fifty dollar per night rooms in budget motels. If the place is quite near another area the person must be or he/she can receive breakfast there, seventy-five dollars a night is alright, though the hotel has to be more than the simple “good”.
Finally, you will probably have another view of what to expect in regards to service than someone else. You may feel as though you are a higher rank and treat the hotel staff member as such or you may disregard the whole class system altogether and treat everyone equally. However, it is best to treat the people you meet with respect and be polite. If someone was nice to you, you would feel a whole lot better. Therefore, why not give others the same? Doing so will make your hotel experience great.
There are plenty of reasons to stay in hotels and bed and breakfast inns. Everyone will have their own reasons for doing so. If you’re just after a place to rest, and aren’t interested in the bells, whistles, and a copious number of stars in a rating, then you should be able to find good establishments that are within your budget. Learn from other peoples experience, and share your own.
