Advice As To When Is The Best Time To Conceive A Boy
Couples who are attempting to try and conceive a boy may not realize that it is much easier than they think. Plenty of studies have been carried out and certainly these clearly show that the chances for a couple to have a boy rather than a girl are very high indeed. But one way of increasing these chances further for them is to learn about when is the best time to conceive a boy.
As couples will soon discover there are various techniques that they can use which will increase their chances further of having a boy instead of a girl. In this article we take a quick look at two such techniques which have proven popular with couples before when trying to have a boy rather than a girl and although they both show particular times when it is best to conceive a boy you will see that the differ somewhat.
Method 1 - The Shettles Method
Through using this technique a couple is attempting to ensure that the sperm containing Y chromosomes is able to reach the egg before the sperm containing X chromosomes. Generally the sperm that contains Y chromosomes moves more quickly than that which contains the X chromosomes and this is something that couples will need to factor into the lovemaking if they are attempting to conceive a baby boy rather than a baby girl.
The book “How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby: The Method Best Supported by Scientific Evidence” written by Dr Shettles recommends that couples have intercourse during the 24 hours when a woman has begun to ovulate and that no intercourse should take place 12 hours after her ovulation period has finished.
Along with providing definitive times when it would be best to have intercourse for a couple wishing to conceive a baby boy, Dr Shettle also recommends that when intercourse takes place the man penetrates the woman as deeply as he can. This way the more aggressive Y chromosomes sperm is closer to the cervix and so is in a position that places them closer to the egg in order to fertilize it.
Method 2 - The Whelan Method
This particular technique was devised by a Dr Whelan in order to rebut Dr Shettles technique. With her technique Dr Whelan feels that for a couple to increase their chances of conceiving a boy they need to have intercourse during the very early part of a woman’s monthly cycle. Research carried out in to this technique has found that 68% of the time couples using this one were able to conceive the boy that they wanted.
Certainly when it comes to finding out when is the best time to conceive a boy many people have different opinions on this. However there are other methods that couples have used and which have provided them with the desired results. Some couples have found making changes to their diet and eating more red meat and salty snacks can help. Whilst for other couples they tried the method where the man drank coffee before intercourse and this they believed help them to conceive a boy rather than a girl.
