Now that you’ve read some of these articles and done some research, you are prepared to start your diet and fitness regimen. You will always be wondering, where is a good place to start? With all of the knowledge and guidelines in our life we’re not always sure how to make sense of it. If you want to lose weight healthy, you found the right place.

Let’s clarify one thing before we go ahead with this. There is so much information about healthy eating and fitness, it is almost unachievable to learn it all. Nobody would get started if they waited until they knew everything to do so. One important key to success in this area is to start off with very well defined goals and expectations for yourself. The plan is basic but also strong enough to set you on the right path.

Set your goals. Being without a goal is like wandering in the desert hoping to find an oasis. You have to know what oasis you are looking for before you can begin to travel there. The determination you should of had, You will not have. It is harder to stick to working towards your goal if you can’t imagine exactly what you want. You can ask yourself some questions like: How much weight do I want to lose? What measurements am I looking for? Do I want a smaller waist?

When you have done this it doesn’t hurt to write your answers down to some of these questions as a reference for later. Also, if you have to, record some of your current statistics that relate to your questions like measurements or your weight for example. Then you will have something to compare to and your results can be measured more effectively.

Begin to build your food choices and the amounts of each. For some people the most difficulr part is to decide how much or little food they should eat. I have found over the years that the most accurate guideline to multiply your current bodyweightby 10. That should be your daily caloric intake. The most accurate weight is measured first thing in the morning, wearing nothing.

Begin thinking of your exercise program. While weight training is not a necessity it is highly recommeded for permanent lasting results. But if inconvenience or a lack of interest is an issue then cardiovascular activity will do just fine.

This plan should be enough to get you started well on your way to meeting your fitness goals. Once you have the foundation laid down in this manner you can use other information you acquire to build upon it.
